The University of Virginia, in partnership with the Thomas Jefferson Foundation at Monticello, is proud to present the 2017 Thomas Jefferson Foundation Medal in Global Innovation to N.R. Narayana Murthy, founder of Infosys. To mark the occasion, Murthy will deliver a free public talk at the Darden School’s Abbott Center Auditorium, moderated by Dean Scott Beardsley. All members of the public are invited to attend as Murthy shares his story as an Indian entrepreneur and visionary leader who founded and grew Infosys into a global information technology powerhouse.
The Thomas Jefferson Foundation Medal in Global Innovation — which is hosted by Darden and joins its counterparts in architecture, law and citizen leadership as UVA’s highest external honors — recognizes an individual who embodies Jefferson’s vision of global citizenship and relentless dedication to human progress and innovation. Murthy articulated, designed and implemented the Global Delivery Model, which has become the foundation for a global software and services industry that has created true value for humanity.
